NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: NORTH PENN-LIBERTY WINS SHOOTOUT WITH WILLIAMSON (January 6, 2026)

LIBERTY — North Penn-Liberty’s Evan McTish and Luke Kreger combined for 47 points to overcome a career night by Williamson’s Maddox Hartman as the Mounties beat the visiting Warriors 86-60 here Tuesday night.

McTish finished with 26 points in the win, half of which came in the first quarter that saw the Mounties jump out to a 31-11 lead over the Warriors. Kreger added 10 points in the opening period and finished with 21. 

Hartman helped Williamson to a 16-16 second quarter, scoring eight of his game-high 33 points in the frame as Liberty took a 47-27 lead into the break. 

The Mounties got seven points from Brody Grinnell in a 22-13 third quarter that pushed Liberty’s lead to 69-40 before Hartman scored 18 of Williamson’s 20 points in the final frame.

McTish grabbed nine rebounds while Kreger collected five steals and Grinnell finished with 12 points and added four assists and four steals. 

Conner Lewis had eight points, nine rebounds, seven assists and seven steals, Sudan Benner had eight points, five rebounds and five steals, Landon Mattern had four points and three assists, Kayden Mowery had three points and Nicholas Bailey rounded out the Mounties’ scoring with two points.

Jacob Brown scored nine points for Williamson in the loss while A,J, Hargarther and Uriah Davis had five points each, Alex Watson had three, Gabe Crance and Thomas Bomba had two points each and Kayden Moon chipped in with one point.

North Penn-Liberty evens their season record at 4-4 with their third straight win. They’re at Canton on Thursday. 

Williamson drops to 1-8 on the season with the loss. They’ll host Cowanesque Valley on Wednesday.
