NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: COWANESQUE VALLEY HOLDS ON TO TOP WILLIAMSON (January 8, 2026)

TIOGA JUNCTION — Cowanesque Valley took a 24-point lead at halftime and fought off a furious second half comeback attempt to hold off the host Williamson Warriors for a 52-46 win Thursday.

CV’s Parker Lee scored seven first quarter points to lead the Indians to a 25-13 advantage. Jacob Johnson hit a pair of threes in CV’s 17-5 second quarter to put the Indians up 42-18 at the break. 

Williamson’s Jacob Brown led an 11-4 third quarter with six points to cut Cowanesque Valley’s lead to 46-29 and the Warriors rallied for 17 fourth quarter points while holding the Indians to six to come up shy on their comeback attempt.

Lee finished with 13 points in the win while Johnson had nine points, Levi Stahli had eight points and Carsyn Kemp had five points. Joshua Teague and Ashtyn Burdick scored four points each and Trevor Hollenbach, Reed Vargeson and Danny Smith added three points each.

Brown scored a game-high 18 points for the Warriors while A.J. Hargarther had 11, Maddox Hartman had nine points, Kayden Moon had six and Gabe Crance had two points.

Cowanesque Valley (4-7) returns to play next Tuesday when they host Northeast Bradford, while Williamson (1-9) also plays on Tuesday, at home against Canton.
