NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: MOUNTIES ROUT CANTON FOR FOURTH STRAIGHT 'W' (January 8, 2026)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportCANTON — North Penn-Liberty won their fourth straight game as the Mounties cruised to a 56-19 win over Canton in NTL boys’ basketball action here Thursday.
The Mounties took leads of 21-5 after a quarter of play, 39-10 at the halftime break and 51-12 after the third quarter.
Luke Kreger led the way for Liberty, scoring a game-high 16 points and adding four assists, while Landon Mattern scored nine points and had three steals and Brody Grinnell added seven points and three steals.
Sudan Benner and Evan McTish had six points each with Benner grabbing seven rebounds, Conner Lewis had four points and 10 boards, Silas Boiywo had three points and three assists, Ayden Phommavong had three points and four rebounds and Tucker Edler rounded out NPL’s scoring with two points.
The Mounties (5-4) will next host North Penn-Mansfield on Saturday.
