HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS BASKETBALL: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD EDGES NOPO WITH BIG SECOND HALF (January 10, 2026)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportMANSFIELD — North Penn-Mansfield used a big second half and a 27 point night from Kameron Lightner to edge visiting Northern Potter 55-54 in a non-league girls’ basketball match-up here Saturday.
Lightner added 16 rebounds for a double-double and led the Lady Tigers’ second half comeback with 10 points in the third quarter and 11 in the fourth.
NPM fell behind 14-9 after a quarter of play and were down 28-16 at the halftime break.
A 20-12 third quarter for the Tigers made it 40-36 NoPo and Maddy McNamara’s six, fourth quarter points helped lead Mansfield to the win.
McNamara finished with 11 points in the win and added four assists and three steals, while Addie Lehman and Julia Kaczynski had six points each and Elaina Shaw had five points, six rebounds and six steals.
The Tigers shot 32 free throws, making 17, as Lightner went 13-for-22, while Northern Potter shot 11-for-19 from the line.
Mansfield evens their season record at 5-5 with the win. They’re scheduled to host Central Mountain on Monday.
