NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: WELLSBORO SUFFERS BLOWOUT LOSS TO TROY (January 14, 2026)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — The Lady Hornets welcomed league-leading Troy to town Wednesday and were mercy-ruled, 45-16, in NTL girls basketball action.
Troy took a 23-0 lead after the first quarter of play, extended their lead to 35-3 at the break and led 43-5 before an 11-2 Wellsboro fourth provided the final.
Kya Lawton led Wellsboro with nine points, Ady Frantz had three points and Lily Wagner and Lena Rothermel had two points.
The Lady Hornets drop to 3-9 on the season with their fifth straight loss. They’re scheduled to visit Athens on Friday.
