NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: TIGERS FALL TO TROY COMEBACK (January 17, 2026)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportMANSFIELD — North Penn-Mansfield fell to a fourth quarter comeback by Troy here Saturday, losing 45-42 to the Trojans.
The Tigers took a 12-=5 lead after the first quarter behind a balanced scoring attack that saw five players score, led by Andy Hermansen’s four early points.
Troy edged Mansfield 10-9 in the second quarter to cut the Tigers’ lead to 21-15 at the break. Jason Harer helped the Tigers up their advantage to 35-26 with eight third quarter points before the Trojans rallied for a 19-point final quarter and hold NPM to seven to complete the comeback win.
Harer recorded a double-double in the loss, scoring 16 points and grabbing 21 rebounds while adding four blocked shots. Collin Oakes scored 10 points, Hermansen had six points and four assists and Colton Pellett and Kevin Clemente-Vazquez each added five points.
The Tigers (7-6) return to action Wednesday at Northeast Bradford.
