NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: FLETCHER LEADS HORNETS TO WIN OVER TROY (January 31, 2026)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — The Hornets used a big third quarter and 31 points from Colin Fletcher to beat Troy 59-53 in an NTL large school match-up here Saturday.
Down 26-24 at halftime, Wellsboro got 11 points from Fletcher in a 17-8 third quarter to pull ahead of Troy, 41-34.
Fletcher went 10-for-14 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter and scored 14 of Wellsboro’s 18 points while the Hornets held off the Trojans despite their 19-point rally in the final frame.
The Hornets took a 15-13 first quarter lead behind 10 points from Luke Rothermel before Troy took a 26-24 lead into the locker rooms.
Fletcher added four rebounds and a blocked shot to his 31-point night while Rothermel finished with 14 points and recorded a double-double with 10 rebounds.
Griffin Morral and Marek Mascho scored four points each and Jonathan Carl rounded out the Hornets’ scoring attack with two points.
The Hornets are scheduled to return to action on Monday at Athens.
