NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: TIGERS CAN'T HOLD EARLY LEAD IN LOSS TO TROJANS (February 2, 2026)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportTROY — North Penn-Mansfield started the game with a 12-1 run but couldn’t hold off Troy, falling 60-51 to the host Trojans in an NTL large school boys’ basketball match-up here Monday.
The Tigers took a 17-8 lead after a quarter of play behind 12 points from Andy Hermansen, who finished with a game-high 20 points in the loss.
Kevin Clemente-Vazquez hit three 3-pointers in the second quarter but the Trojans outscored Mansfield 19-15 to cut the Tigers’ lead to 32-27 at the break. Vazquez scored a career-high 19 points for NPM, including five threes.
Troy opened the second half with a 10-0 run to take a 37-32 lead with just under four minutes left in the third and led by two .. 42-40 .. as they went to the final frame.
A 5-0 start to the fourth quarter put the Trojans up 47-40 before Hermansen completed a three-point play and finished a drive to make it 47-45 Troy, but the Tigers would get no closer as the Trojans finished the game with a 13-6 run to seal the win.
Jason Harer scored six points for Mansfield in the loss while Colton Pellett added four points and Patrick Youmans rounded out the Tigers’ scoring with two points.
Troy went 8-for-14 from the free throw line while NPM was 2-for-6.
North Penn-Mansfield (11-8) is scheduled to return to action Wednesday at Athens with their second of four straight road games to finish the regular season.
