NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: WILLIAMSON WINS NORTHERN TIOGA BATTLE WITH COWANESQUE VALLEY (February 5, 2026)

TIOGA JUNCTION — In a back-and-forth Northern Tioga girls’ basketball match-up here Thursday, Williamson came out on top over Cowanesque Valley, 34-31. 

The Lady Warriors took a 10-8 lead in the first quarter behind four points each from Kenna Thomas and Olivia Nolan as Starr Ordway scored six for the Lady Indians. A 6-2 advantage for CV in the second quarter gave the Indians a 14-12 lead at the break. 

Thomas scored seven third quarter points and Nolan netted four to go up 23-21 as they headed to the final frame. Jaylynn Anderson hit a pair of threes for CV in the fourth but Nolan and Thomas each scored four points and the Warriors held Cowanesque Valley off for the 34-31 win.

Thomas scored a game-high 17 points and was 5-of-5 from the free throw line while Nolan had 12 and went 4-for-4 from the line, Leann Kessing had three points and Bailey Snyder scored two for Williamson.

Lilah LaBarron led CV with 10 points while Anderson had nine on three 3-pointers, Starr Ordway scored seven points, Addy Lanzo and Taylor Eldridge had two points each and Des Stickler added one point. 

Williamson (8-12) returns to action Saturday when they visit Northern Potter, while Cowanesque Valley (4-16) is at North Penn-Liberty, also on Saturday.
