NTL BOYS BASKETBALL: COWANESQUE VALLEY BEATS WILLIAMSON IN REGULAR SEASON FINALE (February 6, 2026)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWESTFIELD — A day after Williamson topped CV in a match-up of Northern Tioga School District’s two girls basketball teams, the boys’ squads faced off on Friday night and Cowanesque Valley beat the visiting Warriors, 69-31.
Williamson took a 13-12 lead after a quarter of play as Owen Cilino scored eight early points for the Warriors. AJ Hargarther netted all seven points for Williamson in the second quarter but CV exploded for 25 points .. led by Joshua Teague’s seven and Levi Stahli’s six points .. to put the Indians up 37-20 at the break.
CV again held Williamson to seven points in the third quarter and took a 57-27 lead as they headed to the final frame. A 12-4 CV fourth provided the final.
Stahli scored a game-high 18 points to lead CV, while Trevin Hollenbach had 11 points, Ashtyn Burdick, Teague and Jacob Johnson had nine each, Carsyn Kemp had five points, Parker Lee and Justin Mack had three points each and Reed Vargeson rounded out the Indians’ scoring with two points.
Hargarther led Williamson with 13 points while Cilino had eight points, Alex Watson had four points and Maddox Hartman and Shae Davis had three points each.
This was the last game of the regular season for both teams. Williamson finishes their year with a 5-17 record.
Cowanesque Valley, now 8-14, is the 6th-ranked team in Class 2A, with the top eight teams qualifying for the District 4 playoffs.
