NTL WRESTLING: NORTH PENN-LIBERTY'S PEQUIGNOT & NICKERSON WIN QUARTERFINAL BOUTS, ADVANCE TO REGIONAL SEMIS (February 27, 2026)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWILLIAMSPORT — North Penn-Liberty’s Bryce Pequignot and Bodhi Nickerson each won their quarterfinal bout on Friday night to advance to Saturday’s semifinals in the PIAA Northeast Region 2A Championships.
Sophomore Nickerson (27-8), the No. 4 seed at 107 pounds, advanced with a 16-0 tech fall over No. 5 seed Dante Tanzini, a freshman from Blue Ridge.
Nickerson will face top-seeded Honesdale sophomore Nathan Schuman (45-1) in Saturday’s semis.
Pequignot (32-4), a junior and the No. 3 seed at 121 pounds, tech falled No. 6 seed Montrose freshman Grady Loureiro 19-3 Friday night.
Pequignot will face No. 2 seed Carmen Malt (21-4), a senior from Berwick, in the semis on Saturday. The two met in the DKI finals earlier this season where Pequignot won with a 20-4 TF.
Wrestling begins at 9 a.m. Saturday back at Williamsport HS with the first round of consolation matches, followed by the championship semifinals and consolation quarterfinals.
