NTL WRESTLING: NPL'S BRYCE PEQUIGNOT & BODHI NICKERSON PUNCH TICKETS TO STATES (February 28, 2026)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWILLIAMSPORT — North Penn-Liberty will send a pair of wrestlers to Hershey for the State Championships after junior Bryce Pequignot finished as the Regional runner-up at 121 pounds and sophomore Bodhi Nickerson qualified as the 4th-place winner at 107 pounds.
Pequignot opened Regionals with a 19-3 tech fall Friday over Montrose freshman Grady Loureiro and reached the 121-pound final with a fall in his semifinal match-up against Berwick senior Carmen Malt.
His second straight finals loss to Line Mountain junior Brock Rothermel (43-4), who beat Pequignot in last week’s District championship bout, leaves Pequignot with a 33-5 season mark and his third trip to Hershey for States.
Sophomore Nickerson makes his first trip to States after placing 4th on Saturday. The 107-pounder opened Regionals with a 16-0 tech fall over Blue Ridge freshman Dante Tanzini before falling in his semifinal bout against eventual champ Nathan Schuman from Honesdale.
Nickerson beat Honesdale freshman Nate Clime to reach the 3rd/4th place match, where he fell 2-1 in sudden victory to Benton freshman Korben Collae.
Wrestling in Hershey begins on Thursday and runs through Saturday. Look for a rundown of Pequignot and Nickerson’s State brackets soon.
