NTL SOFTBALL: WILLIAMSON STAYS UNBEATEN, HANDS COWANESQUE VALLEY FIRST LOSS (March 31, 2026)

LAWRENCEVILLE — Williamson won a battle of unbeaten teams here Tuesday, beating Cowanesque Valley 12-4 behind 11 base hits .. including two home runs .. and a 10 strikeout performance by Kenna Thomas.

The Lady Indians scored first, as Lilah LaBarron drove in Zeraya Wilson, who had singled, to give CV the early 1-0 lead. 

Williamson answered in the bottom half of the first as Olivia Gee hit a solo home run and Jocelyn Colegrove drove Thomas .. who had walked .. in for a 2-1 lead. 

The Lady Warriors increased their lead in the bottom of the second. Mckenzie Adriance drew a two-out walk and scored on a CV error off the bat of Alexis Sprague, who was driven in on a Gee single. Lexi Smalley reached base after being hit by a pitch and Thomas doubled to score Gee and Smalley and give Williamson a 6-1 lead after two innings of play.

CV got two runs back in the 3rd when Wilson singled, Emma Carl reached on an error and Raegan Watson singled them both home, but Williamson once again rallied with two outs in the bottom of the third, as Ashlyn Wells doubled, Adriance reached on an error and both scored on a Sprague single, making it 8-3 Williamson after three.

Williamson scored a run in the 4th, CV answered with a run in the top of the 5th and the host Warriors scored another single run in the bottom half to make it 10-4 after five.

The Warriors added their final two runs in the bottom of the 6th as a Thomas double was followed by a two-run homer by Laila Hackett to provide the 12-4 final. 

Thomas pitched all seven innings for Williamson, allowing four runs .. one earned .. on six CV base hits and a walk with 10 Ks.

Gee led the way at the plate for the Warriors, finishing with three base hits .. including the home run .. with two RBI and three runs scored. Thomas (3 RBI, 2 runs) had two doubles, Wells (1 run) had two hits .. with a double, Hackett (2 RBI, 1 run) had a HR, Sprague (1 RBI, 1 run), Smalley (1 run) and Colegrove (1 RBI) each had a base hit and Adriance scored three runs.

LaBarron took the loss for CV, going five and a third and allowing 12 runs (5 earned) on 10 base hits and three walks with three strikeouts. Carl pitched the final two-thirds of an inning, giving up one hit and striking out one.

Wilson finished with three hits and scored twice, LaBarron had two hits .. with a double .. and added two RBI, Watson had a hit and two RBI and Carl and Braelyn Balada each scored. 

Both teams are scheduled to return to action on Thursday .. Williamson (4-0) at Canton and Cowanesque Valley (3-1) at home against Sayre.
