NORTHERN TIER WEST SPORTS REPORT / LAUREL HEALTH 'ATHLETES OF THE WEEK' (April 5, 2026)

TIOGA COUNTY — The NTWSR / Laurel Health ‘Athletes of the Week’ are North Penn-Liberty’s Elyna Booth, Cowanesque Valley’s Lucas Hamilton and Wellsboro Track & Field duo Piper Hoprich and David Seeling.

Booth led the Lady Mounties to a 2-1 week .. striking out 11 Wyalusing batters .. including the 200th of her career .. in a 4-0 loss to the Rams, striking out 15 Troy batters to lift North Penn-Liberty to a 3-1 win over the Lady Trojans and striking out seven in a 3-1 win over Athens. 

Hamilton had three base hits, two RBI and two runs scored in the Indians’ 12-2 win over Coudersport and had a single, an RBI and two runs scored in a 16-1 win over Williamson.

Seeling won four events for the Hornets as they swept a quad meet against Williamson, Wyalusing and Troy .. the 110m hurdles (16.75), the 300m hurdles (42.30), the high jump (6-04) and the 4x400m relay (3:43.94). 
Seeling won the high jump (5-11) at the Molly Dry Invitational, was 2nd in the 300m hurdles (42.86) and 4th in the 110m hurdles (17.54) as the Hornets placed 3rd.

Hoprich was a four-time winner for the Lady Hornets as they swept a quad meet over Williamson, Wyalusing and Troy .. the 100m (12.63), the 200m (26.24) and as a part of both the 4x100m (51.28) and the 4x400m relays (4:42.53).
Hoprich led the Hornets to a runner-up finish at the Molly Dry Invite, taking first in the 100m (12.58), the 200m (26.10) and the 4x100m relay (51.14).
