VARSITY SOFTBALL: WELLSBORO EARNS NON-LEAGUE WIN AT SULLIVAN COUNTY (April 6, 2026)

FORKSVILLE — Wellsboro pounded out 20 base hits and downed Sullivan County 13-6 in a non-league softball match-up here Monday.

The Hornets scored a run in the first inning and went up 5-0 in the top of the second before Sullivan County cut into the lead with two runs in the bottom half of the second.

Wellsboro plated single runs in the third and fourth innings and scored five in the sixth to take a 12-2 lead. The Lady Griffins scored four runs in the sixth and the Hornets added their final run in the seventh.

Ady Frantz pitched four innings of no-hit ball and allowed two runs .. one earned .. on three walks with 12 strikeouts. Frantz led the Hornets at the plate with three hits .. including a triple .. and had four RBI and a run scored. 

Kaylee Frazier had three hits with a double and added two RBI and two runs scored and Gena Fleming had two hits with a double, an RBI and a run scored. 

Haylie Smith had two base hits, two RBI and a run scored and pitched the final three innings, giving up four runs .. one earned .. on two hits and three walks with five Ks.

Emmaleigh Hamblin (1 RBI, 1 run), Delaney Morral (2 runs), Mazie Johnson (1 RBI, 1 run) and Paityn Biery (1 RBI) had two hits each, Rylee Coolidge (1 run) and Teagan Novinger (1 run) had a hit each while Hannah Taylor had an RBI and Harleigh Cleveland and Maddie Flannery each scored a run.

Wellsboro (2-3) is scheduled to return to action on Wednesday when they host Troy.
