NTL BASEBALL: TIGERS TOPPED BY TOWANDA (April 6, 2026)

MANSFIELD — Towanda used a big third inning to open up a tie game and held off the host North Penn-Mansfield Tigers for a 7-4 win in NTL baseball action here Monday. 

The Tigers opened up the game’s scoring in the bottom of the first inning when Ryder Breon singled and would later score on a Jason Harer sac fly to put Mansfield up 1-0. 

Towanda tied it up in the top of the second and rallied in the top of the third for six runs to go up 7-1 on the Tigers .. a lead that held up until the bottom of the sixth.

Mansfield got a leadoff walk by Breon and a single from Andy Hermansen to start the inning. After a pop-out, Collin Oakes singled to score Breon, Noah Musser singled to score Hermansen and Brock Deitrick hit into a fielder’s choice that scored Musser. The Black Knights got a pop-out to short to end the Mansfield rally and held on for the win.

Isaac Sparks started on the mound for North Penn-Mansfield and took the loss, going two and a third innings and allowing seven runs .. 5 earned runs.. on four base hits and five walks with three strikeouts. 

Breon threw an inning and two-thirds, walking two with two K’s, Peyton Greene pitched two and a third innings and allowed one hit with two strikeouts and Musser threw the final two-thirds of an inning, walking one with one strikeout.

The Tigers had seven base hits in the loss .. two by Musser (1 RBI) and one each by Breon (2 runs), Hermansen (1 run), Oakes (1 RBI, 1 run), Dietrick (1 RBI) and Jackson Raught and Harer had an RBI.

North Penn-Mansfield (1-3) is scheduled to return to play on Tuesday at Cowanesque Valley.
