NTL BASEBALL: BIG INNING COSTS NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD IN LOSS AT CANTON (April 9, 2026)

CANTON — North Penn-Mansfield couldn’t recover from a Canton 5-run third inning and were edged 7-6 by the host Warriors in NTL baseball action here Thursday.

The Tigers opened the game with a two-run first inning as Noah Musser drove in both Jason Harer and Andy Hermansen .. who had each drew two out walks .. before Canton answered with two runs in the bottom half to tie it up.

The Warriors scored five runs in the third and Mansfield chipped away at the 7-2 deficit, scoring two runs in the fourth, one in the fifth and one in the seventh while holding Canton off the scoreboard, but it wouldn’tt be enough to catch up to the hosts.

Hermansen finished with two base hits for the Tigers and scored twice, Colin Oakes had a hit, and RBI and two runs scored and Musser had a hit and drove in three runs. Kam House had a hit and an RBI, Brock Deitrick had an RBI and Isaac Sparks and Harer each scored a run in the loss.

Ryder Breon started on the mound for Mansfield and went two and two-third innings, allowing six runs (2 earned) on one hit and three walks with three strikeouts. Sparks finished the final three and a third innings and gave up an unearned run on three hits with seven K’s.

North Penn-Mansfield (1-5) is scheduled to return to play on Saturday when they host Sayre.
