NTL SOFTBALL: WELLSBORO FALLS TO ATHENS(April 21, 2026) Northern Tier West Sports Report WELLSBORO — In a game that featured 30 combined strikeouts and just five base hits, Athens edged the host Lady Hornets 3-0 in NTL softball action here Tuesday.
The visiting Lady Wildcats scored all three of their runs in the fourth inning and held the Hornets to two base hits as pitcher Gretchen Hiley fanned 16 wellsboro batters.
Kaylee Frazier had a double for Wellsboro and Harleigh Cleveland singled.
Wellsboro ace Ady Frantz scattered three hits across seven innings and walked three Athens’ batters while striking out 14.
The Lady Hornets drop to 5-7 on the season with their 4th straight loss. They’ll return to play on Thursday when they host Towanda.
