NTL BASEBALL: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD DROPS CLOSE ONE IN TROY (April 23, 2026)

EAST TROY — North Penn-Mansfield was edged 6-5 by Troy here Thursday, the 3-8 Tigers’ fourth one-run loss of the season. 

Mansfield took a 1-0 lead in their first at-bat when Andy Hermansen walked, moved around the bases on a steal and a Jason Harer sacrifice and made it home on a passed ball. The Trojans answered with three runs in the bottom of the first before the Tigers plated four in the second to go up 5-3, a lead that would hold up until the bottom of the fourth. 

Troy plated their final three runs in the fourth and shut the Tigers down the rest of the way to seal the win. 

Harer started on the mound for North Penn-Mansfield and went two-thirds of an inning, allowing three unearned runs on one Troy hit and four walks with one strikeout. 

Noah Musser pitched two and a third innings and gave up no runs on two hits and two walks and Isaac Sparks finished, going three innings and allowing three runs (1 earned) on two hits and a walk with one K.

Ryder Breon had two base hits for the Tigers, including a double, and had an RBI while Hermansen had a double, an RBI and scored twice. 

Harer had a hit and two RBI, Kam House and Brock Deitrick each had a hit and scored and Collin Oakes had a run scored. 

North Penn-Mansfield (3-8) returns to action Tuesday when they host Athens.
