NTL BASEBALL: HORNETS TOP TOWANDA (April 24, 2026)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportTOWANDA — Wellsboro used a big first inning and a solid outing from Gage Baltzley on the mound to down the host Black Knights 7-1 on Friday.
Coen Tennis hit a three-run home run in the first inning, scoring Gabe Cuneo .. who had singled .. and Marek Mascho .. who had walked .. and Cameron Owlett drove in Max Mascho with a single to give the Hornets an early, 4-0 lead.
Wellsboro added single runs in the 3rd, 5th and 6th innings and Baltzley went the distance, allowing an unearned run on five Towanda hits and a walk while striking out eight.
Owlett finished with four base hits in the win and added two RBI while Reed Richardson had three hits and a run scored. Tennis had the home run, three RBI and a run scored, Max Mascho had a hit and scored three runs, Cuneo had a hit and scored, Baltzley had an RBI and Marek Mascho scored.
The Hornets (9-2) are scheduled to return to play on Tuesday at Wyalusing.
