VARSITY TRACK & FIELD: WELLSBORO COMPETES AT CENTRAL COLUMBIA'S BLUE JAY CLASSIC (May 1, 2026)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportBLOOMSBURG — The Wellsboro Track & Field teams competed at Central Columbia’s Blue Jay Classic on Friday, where the Lady Hornets finished in 3rd place and the boys’ were 4th.
The girls scored 97.5 points, behind only Shikellamy (100.5) and meet champ Central Columbia (104).
Piper Hoprich won both the 100m (11.91) and 200m (25.14) dashes and Lauren Kosek won the 800m (2:21.63) and 3200m (12:22.74) runs.
Kristina Belz finished 3rd in the long jump (15-5) and in the triple jump (32-9) and 6th in the high jump (4-6), Isla Twoey was 3rd in the 300m hurdles (49.08) and 6th in the triple jump (31-10), Luna Moyer was 5th in the 100m dash (13.05) and 6th in the 200m (27.81) while the 4x100m relay was 2nd (50.60), the 4x400m relay was 3rd (4:24.37) and the 4x800m relay was 4th (11:18.77).
The boys scored 69 points, behind Central Columbia (78), Mt. Carmel (88.5) and champ Shikellamy (168.5).
David Seeling won the high jump (6-2) and Max Macias won the 3200m run (10:17.34).
Henry Whitney was 2nd in the 1600m (4:28.17) and Macias was 3rd (4:41.60), Whitney was 3rd in the 3200m (10:19.70), Seeling was 3rd in the 300m hurdles (41.77), Jude Cuneo was 3rd in the 800m (2:01.88) and Jonathan Carl was 3rd in the long jump (20-9.25) and 4th in the triple jump (40-10.75).
