VARSITY BASEBALL: WELLSBORO HOLDS ON FOR 4-3 WIN OVER SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT (May 2, 2026)Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — The Hornets scored four early runs and held off South Williamsport for a 4-3 non-league baseball win here Saturday.
Wellsboro plated a pair of runs in both the first and second innings while South Williamsport scored their three runs in the fifth.
Max Mascho threw a complete game, going all seven innings and allowing three unearned runs on four SW hits and a walk while striking out 11.
Marek Mascho and Coen Tennis had a pair of base hits each in the win, with Mascho adding an RBI and a run scored and Tennis driving in a run.
Gabe Cuneo had a triple, an RBI and a run scored, Griffin Morral had a hit and scored twice and Cameron Owlett had a hit and an RBI.
The Hornets improve to 12-2 on the season with their eighth straight ‘W’. They’re scheduled to visit Williamson on Tuesday.
