NTL SOFTBALL: WILLIAMSON SPLITS DOUBLE-HEADER WITH CANTON (May 4, 2026)

CANTON — The Williamson softball team split a double-header with Canton here Monday, falling 7-3 in the first game and 10-running the host Warriors 11-1 in six innings in the second.

Williamson took a 2-0 lead in the first inning of Game 1 but Canton scored seven unanswered runs before the visiting Lady Warriors added their final run in the top of the sixth.

Olivia Gee started in the circle for Williamson and was tagged with the loss, going three and a third innings and allowing five runs (2 earned) on seven Canton hits and a walk while striking out four.

Kenna Thomas relieved Gee and pitched the final two and two-third innings, giving up two unearned runs on three hits with two Ks.

Gee had two base hits in the loss, with a double and a run scored, Lexi Smalley had a double, an RBI and a run scored and Mckenzie Adriance had a double. 

Kenna Thomas had a hit, an RBI and scored a run and Laila Hackett had a hit and an RBI while Jocelyn Colegrove and Ashlyn Wells each had a base hit.

In Game 2, Gee pitched all six innings and kept Canton off the scoreboard until the sixth inning. Gee allowed three hits, walked one and struck out four to earn the win.

Williamson scored a run in the first, four in the second, three in the fourth, one in the fifth and their final two in the bottom of the sixth to end the game early.

Smalley led Williamson at the plate with three base hits, including a pair of doubles, two RBI and a run scored. Colegrove had two hits, with a double, an RBI and a run scored and Gee had two hits, an RBI and scored a run.

Lainey Hackett had a hit, two RBI and a run scored, Alexis Sprague had a hit, an RBI and three runs scored, Wells had a hit, an RBI and a run scored, Adriance and Aubree Roe each had a hit and scored and Laila Hackett scored a run.

Williamson (9-6) is scheduled to return to play on Tuesday when they host Wellsboro.
