NTL JR. HIGH TRACK & FIELD: WELLSBORO HORNETS (May 5, 2026)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — The Hornets hosted the Jr. High NTL Track & Field Championships Tuesday where the boys finished in 2nd place and the girls were 3rd.
The boys scored 132 points, just behind league champ Athens (133.50) and ahead of North Penn-Mansfield (80), Towanda (46), Troy (42), NEB (31), Williamson (29.5), Canton (5), Sayre (3) and Wyalusing (1).
The Hornets had two event winners on the day, as Damon Boyce won the triple jump (31-08.75) and the 4x100m relay squad of Boyce, Cody Tomlinson, Isaac Otbot and Aden Berg placed 1st (49.62).
In the 100m dash, Tomlinson was 3rd (12.49), Berg was 4th (12.78) and Otbot was 8th (13.25), Tomlinson was 2nd in the 200m dash (24.95), Berg was 3rd (26.27) and DaWayne Greenfield was 8th (28.10) and in the 400m Tomlinson was 2nd (56.17) and Nate Rudy was 8th (1:04.20).
In the 800m Nate Rudy was 2nd (2:33.38), Declan Borzok was 7th (2:41.72) and Lucus Taboada was 8th (2:42.35), William Rudy was 3rd in the 1600m (5:36.42), Wiley Sargent was 7th (5:47.98) and Borzok was 8th (5:51.80), Berg was 2nd in the 100m hurdles (17.54), Justin Dunlap was 3rd (18.49) and Greenfield was 7th (20.48) and the 4x400m relay of Nate Rudy, Evan Rawson, William Rudy and Dunlap was 2nd (4:23.64).
In the high jump Boyce was 4th (4-08) and Dunlap was 5th (4-06), Otbot was 2nd in the long jump (15-10.00) and Boyce was 3rd (15-07.75), Otbot was 2nd in the shot put (32-09.50) and Caleb Clark was 8th in the discus (83-02.50).
The Lady Hornets scored 62.5 points, behind champ Athens (134) and Troy (110) and ahead of NEB (48.5), Williamson (48), Canton (26), Wyalusing (26), NPM (23), Towanda (22) and Sayre (6).
Ryleigh Sporer won the 100m dash (13.63) and the 4x100m relay of Sporer, Nora Mickey, Naleyah Greenfield and Ella Satalin won (55.24).
Sporer was 2nd in the 400m (1:07.09), Mickey was 4th in the 100m (14.34), Greenfield was 5th in the 200m (29.91) and in the 100m hurdles (19.81) and the 4x400m relay of Lorelei Stevens, Greenfield, Satalin and Sporer was 4th (5:00.55).
Rosa Cole was 5th in the high jump (4-02) and Ella Gehman was 6th (4-02), Gehman was 5th in the triple jump (27-08.50), Cole was 6th in the shot put (25-07.50) and Isobel Kennedy tied for 6th in the long jump (12-05).
