NTL GOLF: NPM'S GREEN FINISHES FOURTH AT DISTRICTS, HEADED TO STATES (2021-10-02)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportEAGLES MERE — North Penn-Mansfield’s Andrew Green placed fourth at the District IV, Class AA Individual Tournament Saturday, qualifying the junior for the upcoming State Championships.
Green followed his first-day score of 80 up with an 84 on the tournaments second day, for a 164 in the championship. He had 16 pars over the two rounds and added a birdie on the back nine of his second day.
District Champion Nick Mahoney of Lewisburg shot an overall 157, while runner-up Sean Kelly, also of Lewisburg, shot a 161 and 3rd-place finisher Will Gronlund, also of Lewisburg was one stroke better than Green at 163.
Green will have a familiar face playing alongside him at States, as fellow NTL golfer Kannon Vanduzer of Sayre placed 5th behind Green and qualified for the tournament with a 165.
