VARSITY SOFTBALL: CV LADY INDIANS FALL TO NORTHERN POTTER (May 8, 2026)

WESTFIELD — Cowanesque Valley out hit Northern Potter and didn’t surrender an earned run but 10 Lady Indian errors led to a 9-3 loss to the Lady Panthers in non-league softball action Friday.

Northern Potter jumped out to a 7-0 lead, scoring three first-inning runs and two in each of the second and third frames.

CV scored a run in the bottom of the fourth, followed by NoPo adding a run in the fifth and the Indians getting a two-run home run from Lilah LaBarron in the bottom of the fifth to make it 8-3. The visiting Panthers tacked on their final run in the sixth.

LaBarron finished with two base hits and had two RBI and a run scored while Zeraya Wilson had a hit and scored, Taylor Eldridge, Natalie Grab and Ella Krise each had a base hit and Braelynn Balada scored.

LaBarron started in the circle for CV and went two innings, allowing five unearned runs on a hit and four walks with two strikeouts. Emma Carl pitched the final five innings and gave up four unearned runs on three hits and three walks with one K.

The loss drops Cowanesque Valley’s season record to 9-10. With no scheduled games remaining, the Lady Indians’ season comes to an end.
