LITTLE LEAGUE SOFTBALL: SOUTHERN TIOGA 12U TOPPED BY ATHENS(June 26, 2026) Northern Tier West Sports Report ATHENS — The Southern Tioga 12U softball team lost their first game of the PA District 15 All-Star postseason here Friday, falling 9-6 to Athens to set up a winner-take-all final against the Wildcats on Friday.
Southern Tioga took a 6-5 lead in the top of the 5th inning before Athens rallied for four runs in the home half and got out of a one-out, bases loaded jam in Southern Tioga’s last at-bat to secure the win.
With Southern Tioga having beat Athens in their first meeting, a third match-up will decide the District championship. The final will be back in Athens on Sunday at 3 p.m.
