NTL GOLF: WELLSBORO HOSTS FIRST LEAGUE MATCH OF '26, FINISHES 3RD (August 17, 2026)

WELLSBORO — The Hornets opened the 2026 golf season by hosting the NTL teams at Tyoga Country Club on Monday and finished in 3rd place behind Syler Pietrzyk’s top-5 finish.

Pietrzyk shot a 41 on the front nine and a 40 on the back for a round of 81 with two birdies to finish tied for 5th place in the field. 

Chase Schultz shot an 83 (42, 41) with one birdie, Ben Jackson had an 89 (46-43) and Logan Johnson had a 91 (44, 47) with a birdie to give Wellsboro a four-player aggregate score of 344. Jackson Largey (94) and Conlen Whotsell (96) shot unscored rounds for Wellsboro. 

Towanda won with a 305 while Athens was 2nd with a 327. The Hornets beat North Penn-Mansfield (350), Cowanesque Valley (369), Wyalusing (387), Canton (402) and Sayre (434).
