NTL GIRLS SOCCER: WILLIAMSON DOWNED BY TROY(September 2, 2026) Northern Tier West Sports Report ELKLAND — Williamson fell behind perennial powerhouse Troy 5-0 at the half and lost 8-1 to the defending league champs in NTL girls’ soccer action Wednesday.
The Lady Trojans outshot Williamson 30-4 as Addy Lanzo made 12 saves in goal for the Lady Warriors in the first half and Leeann Kessing made 10 stops as the second half keeper.
Lainey Hackett scored Williamson’s goal in the second half of play, assisted on by Alexis Sprague’s direct kick.
Williamson Head Coach Felicia Hackett was happy with her squad’s play in their season opener .. and that the Lady Warriors were able to field a team at all.
“For the first game of the season, I’m proud of what the girls did today,” said Hackett, “We lost six starters to graduation and started the season with 10 .. we were worried we wouldn’t have a season and now we have 16 players.”
“We have a lot to work on,” Hackett continued, “but I’m excited to see what the season brings.”
Williamson is scheduled to return to play next Wednesday at Athens.
