NTL CROSS COUNTRY: NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD RUNS AT TOWANDA TRI-MEET WITH SULLIVAN COUNTY (September 22, 2026)

LAPORTE — The North Penn-Mansfield cross country teams ran against Towanda and Sullivan County on Tuesday with both the boys and girls’ squads going 0-2.

The Sullivan County boys beat North Penn-Mansfield 23-32, while the Knights won 22-35 over the Tigers. 

NPM's Michael Knefley (17:23) edged out Towanda's Emmett Klees (17:28) for first, setting a new course record in the process.

David Graf (19:46) was 10th for the Tigers, Braden VanLoon (19:55) was 11th, Isaiah VanLoon (20:21) was 13th, Nolan Palmatier (21:57) was 21st, Alex Mahosky (23:01) was 23rd and Caleb Post (25:21) was 25th.

On the girls side Towanda beat NPM 19-41 while the Lady Griffins topped the Lady Tigers 22-32.

Leila Garverick (22:02) was Mansfield’s top finisher in 4th place while Jaci Fairchild (22:22) was 5th. 

Carolyn Cherwinsky (26:22) was 14th, Maryn McCarthy (31:01) was 19th and Bailey Smith (33:26) was 22nd.

In junior high action Sullivan's Brody Peterman (12:05) won the boys race as NPM's Emma Cote (13:39) took the girls win.

NPM topped Sullivan 18-41 in the girls race.

For boys Sullivan beat Towanda 18-34, and NPM 19-44, while Towanda defeated NPM 16-20.
