NTL FOOTBALL: CV INDIANS ROUT NORTH PENN-MANSFIELD(September 25, 2026) Northern Tier West Sports Report BLOSSBURG — Cowanesque Valley won their second straight game and handed the host Panthers their fifth loss as the Indians thumped North Penn-Mansfield, 52-7, in NTL football action Friday at Island Park.
The Indians scored on their first possession when Dave Hess found the end zone from five yards out and after Mason Wonderlich’s good extra point try CV led 7-0 with 10 minutes left in the opening frame.
Hess then bumped the lead to 14-0 after stepping in front of a NP-Mansfield pass and returning the pick 66 yards for an Indian score. Wonderlich was again good on the PAT and 2:41 remained in the first quarter.
CV would add three more scores in the second quarter .. as Hess scored from three yards out with 6:25 left in the half, from 38 yards out with 4:40 left and QB Gavin Churchill found Cam Stahli for a 13 yard scoring strike with 1:28 left. Wonderlich’s kicks made it 35-0 CV.
The host Panthers avoided a running clock to start the second half when QB Peyton Greene connected on a 35-yard TD pass to Colton Pellett with 38 seconds left before the break.
Cowanesque Valley would tack on 17 more points in the second half and hold North Penn scoreless to provide the 52-7 final.
Greene completed 9-of-21 passes for 80 yards, a TD and an interception. Pellet had a 35-yard TD catch and Jeremiah Lawrence hauled in two catches for 31 yards. Lawrence also led the Panther ground game, gaining nine yards on six carries.
Cowanesque Valley (2-3) is at Towanda next Friday, while North Penn-Mansfield (0-5) hosts Troy, also on Friday.
