NTL BOYS SOCCER: NPL MOUNTIES EDGED BY TOWANDA (September 28, 2026)Northern Tier West Sports ReportLIBERTY — The Mounties scored four first-half goals but surrendered five and fell 5-4 to Towanda in NTL boys’ soccer play here Monday.
David Graf gave the Mounties a 1-0 lead less than six minutes in with a goal off a Parker Jackson assist and made it 2-0 four minutes later with a goal off an assist from Mason Forer.
Towanda would score the next four goals .. three within a minute of playing time .. before NPL got a goal from Kai Wheeland off a Nathan Knefley helper with under 12 minutes left to cut the Black Knights’ lead to 4-3.
Towanda made it 5-3 with six minutes left in the half and Wheeland answered with just over two minutes left with a goal off an assist from Graf to provide what would be the final score .. 5-4.
Towanda outshot North Penn-Liberty 9-6 and had a 4-3 advantage in corner kicks.
Keeper Cooper Barnes made 11 saves in net for the Mounties.
The Mounties (2-9-1) are scheduled to return to action on Wednesday when they host Williamson.
