PIAA GOLF: NPM'S GREEN 15th AT STATE CHAMPIONSHIP (2021-10-18) Northern Tier West Sports Report YORK — North Penn-Mansfield’s Andrew Green competed at the PIAA Class AA Golf championships Monday, carding a one-over 37 on the front nine and a 79 overall, leaving the junior tied for 15th in the state.
Green had five pars and a birdie on the front nine, and two pars and a birdie on the back. He didn’t shoot worse than a bogey in the round until the last two holes .. carding a six on both the 17th and 18th holes.
The AA state champion, Josh James of Union City, shot a one-over 72 to claim the title.
Green was just three shots away from a top-ten medal, as there were 12 players total in the top-ten, due to seven golfers who tied for 6th with a 76 in the round.
Fellow-NTL golfer Kannon Vanduzer of Sayre, the league Player of the Year, shot a nine-over 80 and finished tied for 20th place.
