Boys Basketball
Darryn Callahan, Wellsboro
Callahan led the short-handed Hornets in a loss to the defending NTL champion Troy Trojans earlier in the week, scoring 16 points and grabbing seven rebounds, then led a strong defensive effort in Wellsboro’s 57-49 win over NP-Mansfield and added 11 points, five assists and five rebounds.
Wrestling
Tim Freeman, Williamson
The freshman 172-pounder opened the South Williamsport Tournament with a loss to 9-1 Landon Lorson, then wrestled his way back and won four matches to place third and help lead the Warriors to a second-place finish on the day. In the consolation finals, Freeman avenged an earlier-season loss by fall to Ethan French with a 1-0 decision over the Loyalsock sophomore.
Girls Basketball
Jaclyn Nelson, North Penn-Liberty
Nelson led the Lady Mounties to a 2-0 week. In a 34-30 win over Williamson, Nelson had 20 points, seven rebounds, three steals and two assists, and in the Mounties 49-42 win over CV, Nelson had 12 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals.
