NTL GIRLS BASKETBALL: WELLSBORO GETS DIVISIONAL WIN OVER WYALUSING (2022-01-24)
Northern Tier West Sports ReportWELLSBORO — The Lady Hornets jumped out to an early lead and held Wyalusing to seven second-half points to pick up a 41-22 win in NTL Large School play Monday.
Wellsboro held an 11-3 edge after one quarter as Maddy Mascho hit for four points, Emma Coolidge had three and Paige Logsdon and Emma Brandenburg each added two points.
The Rams rallied in the second quarter to cut the halftime lead to 20-15.
The Hornet defense allowed just three third-quarter points and Coolidge scored five to help Wellsboro extend their lead to 28-18.
Logsdon scored six points in the fourth and Chloe Brandenburg added a pair of baskets to lead the Lady Hornets to a 13-4 quarter to seal the win.
Coolidge finished with 16 points, while Logsdon added 10.
Mascho and Chloe Brandenburg each scored five points, while Emma Brandenburg and Ella Posada each scored two points and Emily Morris chipped in with one point.
Wellsboro evens their season record at 6-6 with the win. They are scheduled to visit Northeast Bradford on Wednesday.
