Senior Mason Holloway was nearly unhittable this season, leading Horseheads to a New York State, Class A title. He is The Sports Reports' 2025 "Baseball Player of the Year."

North Penn-Mansfield's Alex Davis is the "Offensive Player of the Year," while Athens sophomore Brady Flynn is the "Newcomer of the Year," Tioga sophomore Cooper Dember is the "Breakoout Player of the Year," and Jeff Lemoncelli caps his long career with a state title and "Coach of the Year" honors.

Holloway, who is also the "Pitcher of the Year," was 8-0 on the season with a 0.11 ERA — allowing only one earned run and 33 hits in 64 innings. He fanned 111 and did not walk a batter.

Holloway won the first game of the best-of-three Section IV finals, and recorded a save in the second game. He also notched wins in the Regional finals and the state semifinals.

He threw two perfect games this season, and also pitched five innings in a combined perfect game. In one of his perfect games, against Chesterfield, S.C., Holloway fanned 16 of the 21 batters he faced.

Offensively, Holloway hit .403 with nine extra base hits, 27 runs scored, and 23 RBI. He led the Horseheads team in extra-base hits, home runs (two), triples (three), and was tied for the team lead in RBI. 

Davis put up video game-like numbers at the plate for the 13-win Tigers.

He batted .516, getting on base at a .580 clip with 33 base hits, including four home runs and seven doubles, 34 RBI, 37 runs scored, and 22 stolen bases, while drawing 12 walks.

Flynn hit .442 (23 hits in 52 ABs) with seven doubles, 23 RBI, 23 runs scored, and eight stolen bases in his first full varsity season. (He had 10 at-bats as a freshman.)

Flynn walked 12 times and was hit by one pitch for a .537 on-base percentage, to go along with a .577 slugging percentage for a 1.114 OPS.

On the mound, Flynn was 3-0 with a 1.97 ERA and a 1.31 WHIP. He struck out 24 and walked six, while allowing 22 hits in 21 1/3 innings. Opponents hit .256 against him.

Dember, who hit .185 in 27 at-bats last year, averaged .390 (16 hits in 41 ABs) with two doubles, one triple, one home run, 10 RBI, 17 runs scored, and three stolen bases. He walked 11 times and was hit by two pitches for a .537 on-base percentage, to go along with a .561 slugging percentage for a 1.098 OPS.

Limoncelli directed the Blue Raiders to a state title in his final season as coach at Horseheads. He led the Blue Raiders to a Sectional IV title for a school record fourth straight year. 

It was the second state title of Limoncelli’s coaching career — the first coming in 1999, his rookie year of coaching. He amassed more than 400 wins as coach of the Blue Raiders in his career.

2025 ALL-REGION BASEBALL
FIRST TEAM
Mason Holloway, senior, Horseheads: See above.

Alex Davis, senior, North Penn-Mansfield: A terror at the plate (see above), Davis was stellar on the mound as well, compiling a 5-1 record and a 1.73 ERA over 29 innings of work with 31 strikeouts. 

Luke Richards, senior, Notre Dame: The IAC baseball MVP for the second time in his career, Richards finished his career with 8 no-hitters and 350 career strikeouts, both school records. He. Led Notre Dame to the Section IV, Class D title, striking out 141 in 69 innings, the most strikeouts in the area. He had a 3.24 ERA. At the plate, Richards hit .424 with a .553 on-base and 14 RBI, with 12 stolen bases.

Kenny Mapes, senior, Wyalusing: Mapes turned into one of the most feared hitters in the NTL. He batted .520 with five doubles, four home runs, 10 RBI, and 14 runs scored.

Elijah Lewis, senior, Owego: On the bump, Lewis went 7-1 with a 1.113 WHIP and a 1.53 ERA in 50.1 innings pitched. The senior fanned 61 batters on the year with opponents averaging .167 against him. Lewis threw a complete game, one-hit shutout in the first round of sectional playoffs, before holding champion, Maine-Endwell to just two hits and one earned run in the  Class A title game. Lewis also pitched a complete game against Waverly to clinch the STAC Central, going all seven innings while allowing just one earned run.

Offensively, Lewis hit .322 with 19 hits, including a home run, 12 RBI, 24 runs scored and 19 stolen bases. The senior standout worked 19 walks and was hit by pitch on six occasions for an on-base percentage of .524 combined with a slugging percentage of .390 for a .914 OPS.

Logan Stickler, senior, Cowanesque Valley: Stickler hit .453 with a .532 OBP, 29 base hits, including three home runs, two triples and seven doubles. He had 25 RBI, 24 runs scored, 12 walks and 20 stolen bases. Before suffering late-season arm issues, Stickler threw 20 innings for the Indians and went 3-0 with 38 strikeouts and a 2.41 ERA.

Shea Bailey, senior, Tioga: An offensive juggernaut, Bailey hit .462 with 24 hits, including five doubles, two triples, one home run, 19 RBI, 16 runs scored, and nine stolen bases. He walked seven times, and was hit by one pitch for a .516 on-base percentage, to go along with a .692 slugging percentage for a 1.208 OPS. Bailey was also a very good shortstop, and had a solid season on the mound. Bailey was 1-3, and did not allow an earned run in 11 2/3 innings, while striking out 11. Opponents hit .222 against him.

Karter Green, junior, Sayre:  A versatile player, Green hit .512 (22 hits in 43 ABs) with seven doubles, two triples, 14 RBI, 10 runs scored, and 11 stolen bases. He walked five times and was hit by pitches four times for a .596 on-base percentage, to go along with a .767 slugging percentage and a 1.364 OPS.

On the mound, Green was 1-6 with a 4.08 ERA, with 71 strikeouts and 12 walks in 36 innings.  

Cooper Shaw, senior, NP-Mansfield: Shaw hit .449 with 31 hits, including eight doubles and three home runs. He had 26 RBI, 30 runs scored, and nine stolen bases. 

On the mound, Shaw was 4-2 with a 2.87 ERA, and 43 strikeouts in 39 innings.

Reed Palmer, sophomore, Troy: Palmer hit .441 with seven doubles, two home runs, 27 RBI, and 27 runs scored, while striking out 27 in 29 innings.

Cooper Ball, Horseheads: Ball was 7-0 on the mound in 41 2/3 innings with a 1.34 ERA and 32 strikeouts. He hit .304 on the year with five extra-base hits,  23 RBI, and 14 runs scored.

Aedan Palmer, Elmira: Palmer hit .459 on the year with six doubles, three triples, three home runs, and 27 RBI. He was also was 4-3 with a 1.19 ERA and 83 strikeouts.

SECOND TEAM
Connor Davidson, sophomore, Athens: Davidson hit .403 (25 hits in 62 ABs) with six doubles, 20 RBI, 21 runs scored, and six stolen bases. He walked 14 times and was hit by one pitch for a .506 on-base percentage, to go along with a .506 slugging percentage for a 1.006 OPS.

On the mound, Davidson was 4-2 with a 4.48 ERA and a 1.44 WHIP. He struck out 43 and walked 15, while allowing 21 hits in 25 innings. Opponents hit .210 against him.

John Graham, freshman, Corning: The freshman was a sure-gloved infielder, and hit .389 with a .452 on-base percentage, four doubles 12 runs scored. He was a perfect 13-for-13 in stolen bases.

Keagan Monahan, junior, Horseheads: Monahan hit a team-best .406 on the year. He had four doubles, and a team-best 30 runs scored. On the mound, he had a 2.17 ERA in 9 2/3 innings.

Josh Stout, senior, Horseheads: Stout hit .352 on the year with eight extra-base hits, 26 runs scored and 16 RBI. He started at shortstop for a state championship team. 

Logan Aman, junior, SVEC: Aman batted .491 with 26 hits, including seven doubles, two triples, 13 RBI, and 22 runs scored. Aman also stole 18 bases and finished with a 1.248 OPS.

Brendan Cooke, sophomore, Athens: Cooke hit .514 (19 hits in 37 ABs) with six doubles, three home runs, 19 RBI, 20 runs scored, and five stolen bases. He walked 12 times, and was hit by five pitches for a .655 on-base percentage, to go along with a .919 slugging percentage and a 1.573 OPS.

Ayren Morgan, junior, Cowanesque Valley: Morgan posted a 6-1 record for the Indians in 38 innings of work with 44 K’s and a 1.12 ERA while holding opposing batters to a .224 batting average. Morgan also got it done at the plate, hitting .397 with a .538 OBP, 23 hits, 13 RBI, 21 runs scored and 12 stolen bases.

Conlan Taylor, senior, Owego: Taylor, a future Binghamton Bearcat was stellar on the mound again in 2025, as well as at third base and offensively for Owego. Taylor went 4-3 on the mound, striking out 64 opposing hitters and finishing with a 0.957 WHIP and a 1.52 ERA. Offensively, the senior hit .293 with 17 hits, including one homer, four doubles, a triple, 10 RBI, and 22 runs scored. Taylor had a .929 OPS.

Jack Tavani, senior, Towanda: Tavani hit .328 with two triples, 15 RBI, and 19 runs scored. On the mound, he pitched 51 innings with 47 strikeouts and a 1.24 ERA.

Brendan Gilliland, junior, Troy: Gilliland hit .440 with four doubles, three triples, three home runs, 31 RBI, and 30 runs scored, while also stealing 22 bags.

Jack Pipher, freshman, Waverly: Pipher hit .327 (18 hits in 55 ABs) with four doubles, one triple, 12 RBI, 19 runs scored, and 15 stolen bases in 16 attempts. He walked 18 times and was hit by two pitches for a .494 on-base percentage and a .930 OPS.

On the mound, Pipher was 4-0, with a 2.47 ERA, and a 1.412 WHIP. He struck out 15 and walked 11, while allowing 13 hits in 17 innings pitches. Opponents hit .197 against him.

Niko Cheplick, junior, Edison: Cheplick hit .574 with four triples, 11 doubles, 26 RBI and was 19-for-19 on stolen bases with 16 walks. He also had four put-outs from center field. 

THIRD TEAM
Cam Allen, senior, Troy: On the mound, Allen proved a tough one to hit. He threw 42 2/3 innings, striking out 57 with a 2.62 ERA.

Ronin Ault, junior, Waverly: Ault threw in just about every big game the Wolverines played in this season. He posted a 3-2 record with one save, a 1.73 ERA and a 1.233 WHIP. He registered 57 strikeouts and 39 base on balls in 48 2/3 innings. Opponents hit .121 against him.

Ben Fitch, senior, Canton: Fitch hit .420 with eight doubles, two home runs, 28 runs scored, and 12 RBI.

Bailey Gardner, sophomore, Canton: Gardner hit .419 with nine doubles, four home runs, 31 runs scored, and 20 RBI.

Lincoln Chimics, senior, Troy: Chimics hit .386 with 23 runs scored, and 17 RBI, while providing strong defense in the outfield. He also stole 17 bags.

Dylan Brace, sophomore, Owego: Brace took over catching duties for OFA this spring and showcased top-notch blocking abilities, while providing an arm that many runners shied away from. At the plate, Brace hit .362 with 21 hits,  including six doubles, with 22 RBI and 18 runs scored. Brace worked 15 walks for an on-base percentage of .536 to go with a slugging percentage of .466 for a 1.001 OPS.

Garrett Godfrey, senior, Tioga: Godfrey hit .360 (18 hits in 50 ABs) with two doubles, one triple, one home run, 15 RBI, and 13 runs scored. He walked five times and was hit by three pitches for a .441 on-base percentage, a .500 slugging percentage, and a .991 OPS. On the mound, Godfrey was 1-0 with a 3.94 ERA. He struck out 25 and walked 10 in 16 innings.

Nick Grazul, junior, Athens: Grazul hit .325 (13 hits in 40 ABs) with two doubles, one home run, five RBI, 20 runs scored, and eight stolen bases. He walked eight times and was hit by two pitches for a .460 on-base percentage. On the hill, Grazul was 3-1 with a 3.50 ERA and a 1.40 WHIP. He fanned 31 and walked 10, allowing 18 hits in 20 innings.

Evan English, senior, Owego: English was Owego's everyday first baseman this spring, showcasing a solid glove, while providing a big bat in the top half of the lineup. English hit .346 with 18 hits, including two home runs and six doubles, 13 RBI, and 23 runs scored. English was walked 18 times, and earned an on-base percentage of .527 along with a slugging percentage of .577 for a 1.104 OPS.

Hunter House, senior, Wyalusing: House threw 42 1/3-innings, striking out 74 with an ERA of 1.488.

Connor Monroe, Corning: Monroe hit .364 with a .463 on-base. He had three doubles and a home run, and scored 12 runs. 

Logan Demember, Elmira: Demember hit .311 with 11 RBI and two doubles. On the mound, he was 5-2 with a 2.13 ERA and 69 strikeouts. 

FOURTH TEAM
Cooper Dember, sophomore, Tioga: See above.

Joseph Frye, senior, Troy: Frye hit .317 with 21 runs scored, 17 RBI, and five doubles, while providing strong defense behind the plate. On the mound, he sported a 1.71 ERA.

Gianni Assante, senior, Towanda: Assante hit .396 with six doubles, 18 runs scored, and 17 RBI.

Jack Wheaton, senior, Towanda: As an elite defender, Wheaton tracked all over the outfield, and didn’t record an error with 17 put outs, including two double plays. He also hit .364 with two triples, 16 RBI, and 24 runs scored.

Brendan Clark, Horseheads: Clark was 4-1 with a 1.85 ERA in 30 1/3 innings. He struck out 37. 

Trevor Reidy, Horseheads: A strong defensive catcher, Reidy also hit .291 on the year.

Dylan Beam, senior, Edison: Beam hit .531 with four home runs, five triples, 15 doubles, 23 RBI and 13 walks. He was 22-for-22 on stolen bases. 

Drew Slaven, senior, Edison: Slaven posted a 6-0 record with a 3.15 ERA on the mound, with 54 strikeouts, and a perfect game. He hit .341 with 12 RBI, six doubles and 12 walks.

Quinn Hanrahan, Elmira: A strong defensive outfielder, Hanrahan was a key player in the Express sectional championship team. 

Kyle Miller, Corning: Miller was Corning's ace, and registered 52 strikeouts and a 2.77 ERA this season.

Kellen Williamson, SVEC: Williamson hit .417 in 2025 with 20 hits, including four doubles and one triple, 18 RBI and 13 runs scored. He also stole 11 bases and finished the season with a 1.050 OPS. On the mound, Williamson also went 1-1 with 17 strikeouts in 15.2 innings pitched.

Cam Sinn, senior, SVEC: Sinn was a veteran leader for the Eagles, providing a bit of everything, from catching and pitching to solid at-bats all spring. Sinn hit .417 with an on-base percentage of .481 and a slugging percentage of .542 for a 1.023 OPS. He recorded 20 hits, 19 RBI and 13 runs scored, while also totaling 14 stolen bases.

ALL-NEWCOMER TEAM
Brady Flynn, sophomore, Athens: See above.

John Graham, freshman, Corning: See above.

Griff Walter, freshman, Waverly: Walter hit .302 (13 hits in 43 ABs) with 11 RBI, three runs scored, and two stolen bases. He walked 13 times and was hit by one pitch for a .443 on-base percentage. On the mound, Walter was 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA and a 1.286 WHIP. He struck out seven in 11 2/3 innings.

Evan Woodward, senior, Troy: Woodward hit .317 with 18 runs scored, and 11 RBI

Gabe Cuneo, freshman, Wellsboro: Cuneo recorded 16 base hits, 11 RBI and 17 runs scored, while hitting .314 and drawing 15 walks for a .464 on-base-percentage. 

Paxton Hoover, Edison: Hoover was 2-2 with a 3.29 ERA on the mound. At the plate, he hit for a .329 average, with four home runs, four doubles, 13 RBI, nine walks and 12 stolen bases. 

Josh Rought, freshman, Tioga: Rought hit .306 (15 hits in 49 ABs) with four doubles, 15 RBI, 17 runs scored, and four stolen bases. He walked nine times and was hit by pitches twice for a .433 on-base percentage. On the mound, Rought was 3-2 with a 4.44 ERA. He fanned 37 and walked 14, while allowing 22 hits in 23 2/3 innings.

Jackson Varner, junior, Tioga: Varner hit .343 (12 hits in 35 ABs) with one home run, nine RBI, and eight runs scored. He walked six times for a .429 on-base percentage.

Sam Cheresnowsky, freshman, Waverly: Cheresnowsky hit .310 (13 hits in 42 ABs) with three doubles, five RBI, eight runs scored, and three stolen bases.

Troy Teribury, Troy: Teribury hit .300 on the season.

Boom Thompson, freshman, Towanda: A very good base-runner, and an above-average defender regardless of where he's playing, Thompson hit .245 on the season.
